This show is open to all interpretations of the “cup”, either conventional or experimental. We hope to offer artists who may typically work in a production environment an opportunity to experiment with a new idea, or finally explore that tangent that they have always been curious about, all within the familiar form of the cup. Cups are the staple of many ceramic artist’s practice, but often are minimized in value and treated as purely utilitarian objects. Our aim is to display up to 100 cups by various BC early career artists, which highlight the intimate and artistic value of these objects, as well as the depth and diversity of the local artists who create them.
