For Internal Dialogues, deRuiter and Volker worked together using their joint interest in abstraction and contemporary printmaking. They take the 2D and often diminutive medium of printmaking, and through its tradition of multiples, make an expansive atmosphere that is interactive through its 3D sculptural mobiles. Through “Internal Dialogues” the artists explore the tension of interior thoughts represented by paper sculpture against the larger and louder wall imagery of an exterior cloudy atmosphere.
