C A L L  F O R   2024 E X H I B I T I O N   P R O P O S A L S

DEADLINE: December 1st, 2023

arc·hive invites contemporary artists from Vancouver Island & the Gulf Islands to submit proposals for arc.hive’s 2024 gallery season.  arc.hive’s programming supports a range of visual arts mediums with a particular interest in exhibiting the diverse practices of artists in the early stages of their career and those who have taken a new departure with their work.

SUBMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS:

PART A:  A COMPREHENSIVE PDF DOCUMENT, WITH THE FOLLOWING 5 ITEMS, IN ORDER:

  • BRIEF COVER PAGE (Including: proposed exhibition title, artists’ full name, email address, phone number, mailing address and website)
  • EXHIBITION/PERFORMANCE PROPOSAL (1 page (250 words max), including any special requirements)
  • ARTIST’S STATEMENT (150 words max.)
  • ARTIST’S BIOGRAPHY (150 words max.)
  • IMAGE LIST (Including: SEQUENCE#; FIRST INITIAL, LAST NAME; TITLE; DIMENSIONS; MEDIUM; YEAR)

PART B:  15 JPEGS (or audio /visual performances)

FORMAT REQUIREMENTS:

500KB–1MB, 72 dpi, JPEG FORMAT, LABELLED using the following sequence: #, FIRST INITIAL, LAST NAME; TITLE; YEAR PRODUCED (example: 1KSMITH-TITLE-2017)

PLEASE NOTE:

• arc.hive currently has exhibitions booked through February 2024; exhibitions run three weeks and will be scheduled from March 2024 onwards.

• Exhibitions are open weekends from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Selected artists are expected to install their own work and be prepared to gallery sit for the three weekends of the show.

• Please DO NOT INCLUDE EXTRA MATERIALS; proposals which are not formatted according to the above requirements may not be included in the adjudication process.

• Incomplete email applications will not be accepted; please review the above checklist, prior to submission.
